Rising 6th Grade Parent/Family Orientation

The HCMS Rising 6th Grade Parent/Family Orientation will be held Wednesday, January 25 at 6:00 p.m. On this night we invite our rising 6th grade parents/families to learn about middle school, the 6th grade schedule, and answer any questions about the transition to middle school.

PTA Meeting

The January PTA meeting will be held Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the HCMS media center. PTA general membership meetings are a great way to learn more about what is going on at HCMS. All are welcome and we hope you can join us!

23-24 HS Course Registration

Current 8-11th grade students may view their teachers’ course recommendations and submit course placement requests for the 2023-2024 school year. Course requests and alternates should be submitted by January 17, 2023. Parents/guardians will be able to view course recommendations but cannot submit course requests. Inclement Weather Asynchronous Instruction Plan

With the ongoing potential of wintry weather, families are encouraged to review the HCPSS Inclement Weather Asynchronous Instruction Plan. Families will be notified about the asynchronous instruction day the same as all other inclement weather notifications. PTA Spirit Wear

HCMS PTA is excited to announce we've extended the order deadline for 2022 HCMS Spirit Wear! Visit our page to purchase: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/harpers-choice-middle-school-pta-swag-2022. Orders will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022.

Our 8th grade students will be screened for hearing and vision on September 28. If you have any questions, please call the nurse at 410-313-6934.

Impact Aid Forms

Parents/guardians who work on a federal property in Maryland and/or are a member of a uniformed service can qualify HCPSS to receive federal funding by completing the Impact Aid form online by December 19. Impact Aid funding supplements the HCPSS operating budget to enhance the teaching and learning that takes place in Howard County classrooms.
